MEETING OF THE JUSTICE AND HOME AFFAIRS MINISTERS OF THE G8 IN PARIS, ON 5 MAY 2003. PUBLIC STATEMENT BY THE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR, INTERNAL SECURITY AND LOCAL FREEDOMS
Paris, 18 April 2003


Nicolas SARKOZY, Minister of the Interior, Internal Security and Local Liberties and Dominique PERBEN, Minister of Justice, will gather their G8 counterparts in Paris, on 5 May 2003, for a meeting of the Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs.

The Agenda of the meeting will include:

  • Fight Against Terrorism
    • evaluation of the threat and the security measures
    • information on biometrics
  • Protection of sensitive infrastructures
  • Child pornography
  • Judicial cooperation
    • traceability of financial flows
    • asset freezing, seizure and confiscation procedures
    • special investigation techniques
    • DNA: sharing of information between States

The meeting will be held from 9 am to 6 pm at the International Conference Centre (CCI), 5 avenue des Portugais, 75016 Paris.

Press access badges will be delivered to the accredited journalists from 6 am onwards on 5 May 2003, upon presentation of their press card and an ID paper, at the Press Centre located at 23 rue La Pérouse.

Request for accreditation forms should be sent to the Service of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of the Interior, Internal Security and Local Liberties by 6 pm, Monday 28 April at the latest. Due to security measures, no accreditation will be delivered beyond that date.
